My go to evening ‘out out’ makeup look

Hey everyone. As I’ve done some makeup posts and a natural everyday look, I thought I would share you guys my evening go to look. I usually go for the same look when going out, depending on the outfit I’m wearing I will change the eyeshadow, enjoy:)

I will show you the products I use and steps I go by for my go to evening look! its pretty much the same as my all time makeup but obviously I wear more makeup and darker eyeshadow and lipstick! So here goes

Firstly, start with a fresh face. Take off any old makeup and cleanse your face before applying any new makeup, if you apply new makeup and don’t cleanse your face, you are just adding to clogged pores and creating more dirt.

As always, I start off with a primer to set the makeup. I usually use smash box photo finish primer during the day, but at night I mostly wear my more expensive primer; Becca ever matte perfector as I feel this is good for keeping my makeup at bay. When I have it, I also use hourglass oil free makeup which I absolutely love, but because of its price I don’t always buy it, but it is perfect for an evening makeup look.

Hourglass Oil Free Mineral Primer
Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector

For my go to evening foundation, I will always use Nars sheer glow foundation. I swear by this foundation, it has the perfect coverage for me whilst providing me with a dewy look but not too dewy. Use this after primer with your favourite makeup brush! Mine Sigma Kabuki F80!

Straight after foundation, I then of course apply my Laura mercier transculent loose setting powder, which is my favourite powder ever! I have not looked back ever since wearing this. I wear translucent, but they offer powders with a coloured pigment too if you prefer more of a colour to your face! This powder keeps my oily T-zone away for my night out!

Following powder, I use my creamy taste concealer. I use this in the day time as well, but I love the consistency of this concealer, hence I always use it. I apply this after powder so it give a more dewy look under my eyes, giving them a brighter effect. But I usually go in with my egg sponge with a little dab of power so my mascara doesn’t smudge under my eyes.

I almost always use Nars bronzing powder in shade laguna with my Mac bronzing brush for evening outs, applying it to the apple of the cheeks until I can see a nice golden glow! I also sometime use Benefit Hoola caramel which I love, you don’t need to much of this on your cheeks to give you a glow! I love this bronzer, but Nars is always a winner for me.

After bronzer, I apply my Becca shimmering skin perfector pressed highlighter to the cheek bones just to create a glow to my cheeks. I have this on in both pictures above. It creates a golden glow, you don’t need to much either so it lasts forever. I love this highlighter. This is my go to evening wear highlighter!

After I have done my primer, foundation, powder, concealer, bronzer and highlighter I have a quick spritz of my Mario Badescu facial spritz, which gives my skin a refresh of aloe vera, chamomile and lavender. This keeps my makeup looking fresh and hydrated whilst applying my makeup.

Next I apply my eyeshadow. For an evening look I always turn to my smokey shadow palette: Urban Decay Naked 2. For a more glamorous look I turn to my Huda Beauty warm brown obsessions palette. The picture at the top on the left I am wearing a smokey look from Naked palette 2. I love urban decay palettes, the eyeshadow stays on all night and the shadow itself has deep pigments. It also offers some glittery shadows with brown. Browns and smokey are my go to for an evening look.

The huda beauty warm obsessions palette has even deeper pigmented shadow pictured on myself on the right. The deep orangey brownies create this look, you can add the cream under the brows for more definition and a touch of glitter round the eyes.

I then move onto mascara after eyeshadow, I use Lauder sumptuous Black Mascara. This mascara gives my lashes full effect, perfect for an evening look.

I do my eyebrows last. I usually have my brows tinted so I don’t have to apply any colour. So I usually just apply a brow gel. The picture on the right at the beginnig have my brows tinted, so I just use the brow gel to shape them into place. I use collection 2000 mascara gel however, as it works the same and it is cheap and leaves the hairs in place all day. On the left, I have been using Anastasia Dipbrow promenade, I apply the brow gel first, brushing where I want the hairs to be placed, then I apply the brown promenade with a brush onto my hand, then dipping the brush into the colour on my hand and gently across my brows.

I then finish off with another spritz to keep the makeup refreshed and hydrated and thats my evening look!

The lipstick colours I am wearing above are Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in ‘Crush’ and Mac liquid lipstick in ‘lady be good’. I love liquid lipstick as I feel they last all night and Mac and Anastasia have the best colours.

The best face moisturisers for every skin type

Hey guys, I suffer with really dry skin in the winter and oily skin in the summer. So it gets quite complex for my skin care routine as I have to keep changing my moisturisers in the different seasons. So I thought id use my knowledge to share with you guys my recommendations for moisturisers for different skin types.

Firstly, it is important to determine your skin type. The four main types of skin types are ‘normal‘, ‘dry’, ‘oily’, and ‘combination‘.

If you have dry skin, you will constantly experience flaking, and tightness throughout the day. Constant moisturisers and exfoliation is a must in this case.

If you have oily skin, your pores will be congested and clogged. Your skin will also appear oily, even through makeup. Exfoliation is essential to t promote cell turn over.

If you have combination skin, will experience both. Sometimes an oily t -zone area and dry elsewhere. Therefore this is hard to tackle! which is what I have.

If you have normal skin and don’t experience either of these, well aren’t you lucky! But a good moisturiser is still important !

Dry skin

  • Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream (50ml) – £57.00 from cult beauty. I first came across this moisturiser when I received a sample from Sephora and I loved it. It has a silky water gel base so is perfect for hydrating dry skin. It makes your skin firmer, stronger and softer, with a formula helping your skin to stay super fresh. Yes it is very expensive, but its expensive for a reason, it has rich ingredients to maintain hydrated skin, this is on my wish list.
  • Clinique moisture surge 72 Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator – 30ml Currently £15.00 on look fantastic. I currently use this moisturiser as my day moisturiser. I got it because my skin became really dry in the winter so I purchased this for a skin boost and have used it ever since. It contains hyaluronic acid which is essential in an moisturiser for dry skin to hold water and hydration in your skin. This moisturiser does it perfectly!
  • Kiehls ultra facial cream– 50ml £26.00 on look fantastic. I have heard a lot of raves about this cream, I have just ordered it on look fantastic so still have to try it out but many of my friends recommend it. Its fast-absorbing cream provides water replenishment throughout the day by absorbing moisture from the air, for continuous comfort and moisture-balanced skin.
  • La Roche-Posay Nutritic Intense Rich 50ml – £18.00 on look fantastic. La Roche is more aimed at problematic skin, I suffer with redness In some places so I feel this helps with my redness but it also is super hydrating. It is especially formulated for sensitive and dry skin
  • The ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 – Cult Beauty £5.90. This isn’t a moisturiser as such, but Hyaluronic Acid is a good solution to dry skin. I use this every night before bed to add extra moisture to my skin. You add a few drops in the evening and morning before moisturiser to plump the skin.

Oily Skin

  • Skin Repair Light Moisturiser Combination/Oily £22 on Liz Earle. I used Liz Earle products a while ago now, but they are more aimed at oily skin where my skin is more dry now, thats why I stopped using them. But they are very light products on the skin so they are perfect for sensitive skin. You still need to moisturise when you have oily skin to replace the oils lost, a non oily moisturiser is essential like this one. This has a finely balanced blend of naturally active skin-nourishing ingredients, including borage oil echinacea, hops and avocado oil, plus natural source antioxidant vitamin E, to replace lost moisture and leave skin feeling soft and smooth.
  • Dermologica Active Moist light oil free lotion – Dermologica £35. I love dermologica, there products are expensive but they last a long time. Dermologica provide a whole range of products suited to your skin needs. This oil free lotion contains a formula of Silk Amino Acids and a unique combination of plant extracts that help to improve skin texture and combat surface dehydration.
  • Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream Moisturiser – Boots £12.99. If you’re looking for something cheaper, then this drug store moisturiser is perfect for you. Not only is it cheap it is also oil free and especially suited for oily skin. This refreshing moisturiser contains a unique Hyaluronic Gel Matrix to instantly lock in intense hydration and continuously release it as and when your skin needs it throughout the day.
  • La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Moisturiser 40ml – Look Fantastic £17.00. Again La Roche is targeted for problematic skin. It is a soothing compensation moisturiser which moisturises oily skin that feels weak and fragile. It also provides skin with the lipids it lacks to reconstitute the protective hydrolipidic film.

Combination Skin

  • Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly Anti Pollution 125ml – £31.00 look fantastic. Cliniques moisturisers are so hydrating, this jelly moisturiser replenishes your complexion with hyaluronic acid and a water jelly texture to combat dryness, yet restore skins moisture. Perfect for combination skin and it is oil free!
  • Mario Badescu Buttermilk Moisturiser – £14.50 Beauty Bay. I love Mario Badescu products so much! Especially there sprays! But this moisturiser is amazing, it is especially for combination skin enriched with lactic acid delivering silky smooth skin making your face look radiant and healthy!
  • CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion 52ml– £13.00 Boots. Even though it states for normal to dry skin, this cheap drug store moisturiser is ideal for combination skin. It contains hyaluronic acid and has no greasy residue. It also has an SPF of 25! Cant go wrong.

For normal skin you can wear any of the above moisturisers, but id also recommend Clarins, Kiehls, Estee Lauder and Charlotte Tilbury for Radiance, Anti ageing, and normal skin!
